Tipsy Tuesdays is a fun group partying activity, spread by word-of-mouth, that visits a different bar every Tuesday night. We only go to bars that have outdoor patios, since that's where we like to hang out, so we rotate between 10 or so different places. I've been at it since 2003, and planning this bar crawl for a while, so I thought it would be fun to open it to the public and see how many people we can entice :)

You've heard the rumours, now be the first on your block to proclaim that they are, in fact, true! Some fool thought it would be cool to do a bar crawl through the most frequently-visited Tuesday locations, and many other fools jumped right in.

Apologies in advance for the anality of the whole schedule-thing, but you know how paranoid I am that some poor hapless bastard will arrive too early or too late, and miss out, and spend years in therapy recovering from the ordeal.

So, for the sake of that poor hapless hypothetical bastard who may very well be me, I offer you this:

5:00 drink & smoke at Lucky 13, 2140 Market st

6:00 drink & smoke at Pilsner Inn, 225 Church st

6:45 drink & smoke at Zeitgeist, 199 Valencia st. We'll stay a little extra here :)

8:00 drink & smoke at Eagle Tavern, 398 12th st

9:00 consummate at Il Pirata, 2007 16th st

Nice to be back

I just went back after a long abscence. The beer list is pretty much the same, The juke box is the same. It is still the same great bar. It is nice to see that a place like this has not change into a yuppy haven. The only change to report is that one super tall blonde bartender has lost a lot of weight and looks even more like a norse goddes now.

almost made it

i was getting ready to go to lucky 13 alameda last night. getting ready to go there, get a beer, read the east bay guardian. got to my car and noticed a note on it.

my back license plate was stolen. didn't want to risk driving home from lucky 13 and getting pulled over. man i'm pissed. must've been a slow night because opd actually came out and took a report. now i have to go to the DMV today.

they coulda at least left me my USF alumni license plate holder.......f'n bastards

Someone mentioned to me that lucky 13 is in danger of closing to make room for an apartment building. I found no mention of that online anywhere - does anyone know what's going on - or if this is all bullshit?

How Has it Been Lately?

I have been to L13 twice in the last 6 months and it was dead both times I went. Has the crowd changed? I have noticed more yuppies, and hipsters going and less of the blue collar types that I used to see when I went every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in years past.

I have to say I like the bigger variety in SF as well as the bigger bar, yet the one in Alameda is more cozy. I'd think of it as Lucky 13 junior.
